Gone are the days when just any Native English speaker can get hired to teach English; most quality schools now require teaching experience and a TEFL/ESL Certificate.

Costa Rica TEFL offers a balanced program which focuses on key areas for being a successful English teacher: teaching methodologies, teaching techniques, learning styles, classroom management, classroom adaptation, culture in the classroom, effective lesson planning, creativity in the classroom and more.

Our TEFL course consists of 160 hours of training and includes 8 – 15 hours of observed practice teaching with local Costa Rican students. Trainees receive feedback from their peers and teacher trainers in a supportive and conducive-to-learning environment. Trainees are also given job placement assistance and can participate in on-sight interviews with Intercultura and other local language schools. Teachers will also complete a portfolio of their work throughout the course, which will be used in the interview process and in their future classroom.

The core instructors all have Masters Degrees and/or higher in Education and in teaching English as a second or foreign language with more than 22 years of professional teaching experience. We will assist you in earning a TEFL certificate that will qualify you to teach EFL/ESL in Costa Rica or anywhere in the world!

The Costa Rica TEFL course cost is $1.350 (€915 or £825 aprox.) and includes:

• Internationally recognized TEFL certification
• Course materials and assistance in constructing a professional portfolio to be used
  in interviews and in your future classroom
• Access to a copy machine and paper supplies
• Job placement assistance for teaching positions in Costa Rica and worldwide
